I think we had a pretty good show this time around. We ended news at the hour mark on the dot, and then we managed to get 11 1/2 out of 12 music questions right. That’s a pretty good job, I think! By the way, we answer last week’s trivia question. I just forgot that I was supposed to start the show with the answer, so we get to it somewhere in the middle!
This week’s Flipnote animation is from reader OmegaFactor, and it fits in perfect with all the No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle news coming from PAX!

A portion of a Eurogamer review…
…viewed in terms of what it set out to achieve, The Beatles: Rock Band is nothing less than a triumph, and one with in-built longevity in the sense that these are songs that have already survived four decades unmatched, now given a new lease of life thanks to remastering and fresh enough to last another lifetime.

I can’t say that I’ve ever played a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game on my own, other than the first day I picked them up. I wanted to try out the whole drum and mic thing with Rock Band, but after the first day I only played in groups. It’s been like that ever since, but I think that’ll change with The Beatles: Rock Band.
As the article below states, there are people that just absolutely love The Beatles. The people picking up The Beatles: Rock Band are going to be rabid fans, all the way down to people that just like a few of their songs. Either way, the game is going to have more of an allure than other games of this type, because it really goes more in-depth than any other band-focused music game. This will most likely be a band game that has you playing with a group of friends, or solo. It’s going to be fun either way…and not just because you’re trying to get a high score.

Unfortunately, the Wii became exactly what Nintendo said it wouldn’t. It’s a haven for all peripherals, be they useful or absolute garbage. The bad seems to far outweigh the good, and even the Big N themselves have put out a few stinkers. Check out the article below for a roundup of first party peripherals…some that hit the mark, and others that missed the target completely.

I think for many obvious reasons, Nintendo would like to forget the days of the Cube. There really weren’t many reasons for Nintendo to celebrate those days, as they’re much too busy enjoying the success of the Wii. The thing is, those days of the Cube are directly responsible for Nintendo’s triumphs now. Let’s look back on the highs and lows of the Cube, which may have been the most important time in Nintendo’s business life.
