Gamer bytes Wiiware Trailer: Robocalypse: Beaver Defense (Vogster Entertainment):

Robocalypse: Beaver Defense is set to get released today in American and end of this week in Europe for a measly 600 Points, and so what better time is there to give it a second look before its release.

It’s a Tower Defense game with a few unique twists, one being the “Hero Unit” — a movable turret with immense power, not to mention the comical idea of taking down a Beaver with a large brain.

Gamer bytes Wiiware Earthworm Jim HD To Feature Multiplayer:
ewjmultiplayer.jpg

Earlier this week Xbox360Achievements.org revealed the achievements for Earthworm Jim HD, coming out soon from the fellows at Gameloft. But what’s this about multiplayer?

Two achievements in the game reference a new multiplayer mode — “Be No.1 in each Xbox LIVE multiplayer level” and “Complete all the Xbox LIVE multiplayer game levels”. How this’ll work is anybody’s guess, but it sounds like a speedrun race to me, or possibly a multiplayer variant of the snot bungee minigame.

Gamer bytes Wiiware Trailer: Mix Superstar (Digital Leisure):

One of the most popular Xbox Live Indie games is the music maker EZMUZE+, now Digital Leisure plans to bring a similar experience to WiiWare with Mix Superstar.

Mix Superstar will contain 1,000 Dance, Hip Hop and Techno Loops across Guitar, Drum and Voice track and more. You’ll also be able to export your music and download them onto your computer, something I don’t think has ever been possible with WiiWare or even Xbox Live Arcade. You can also use Wii’s online ability to send songs to people on your friend list, and also be able to use your Wii Speak to add your own vocals. You’ll also be able to download additional loops and tracks with downloadable content later on.

Most “applications” that have come to WiiWare and DSiWare have usually been pretty poor excuses for software, but this one looks pretty promising and fully featured. Should hit the WiiWare service soon.

Gamer bytes Wiiware Trailer: Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 (Sega):

Thanks to the leak of the entire game onto the internet, Sega have announced that Sonic 4: Episode 1 has seen a delay into late 2010. To coincide with the delay they’ve released the first official trailer of Splash Hill Zone in action.

I’m still really worried about the game — I don’t like the target attack system at all and the game just revels in its unoriginality. Fool me 9 times, shame on me.
